We have always been asked how long it would take to complete a house purchase from the initial consultation until completion (collecting the keys.)
We always say it should take a minimum of 2 months, but normally it takes a bit longer.
In this case the whole process took almost 9 months, as it often happens with new built properties.
We had to extend the mortgage offer one time as it is only valid for 6 months, fortunately lenders are flexible with new build mortgage extension.
Anyone who wishes to buy their first property and they choose a new building should be prepared for long waiting times.
