Laszlo and his lovely partner Monika first reached out to us in August 2024 – almost a year ago now.
Since then, we’ve exchanged 106 emails (yes, we counted!), and not the short kind either — because their home-buying journey was anything but simple.
We completed their mortgage pre-approval by September 2024, ready to start property hunting. But life had other plans: the case went on hold for a few months to allow time for deposit savings and building up employment history. It wasn’t until January 2025 that we picked things back up again.
By the end of January, they had found the one — their dream flat. What we didn’t know at the time was just how many hidden challenges were waiting for us.
It’s hard to list them all, but here’s a taste:
- Endless delays from the management company
- Sellers who weren’t entirely transparent
- The dreaded cladding issues
- Disputes over repair costs and fire door replacements
- A broken terrace door before moving in
- Parking space confusion
- And investigations into planned — and very expensive — works that could have landed on their shoulders
The list goes on. Honestly, we’re not sure if we’ve even mentioned every obstacle. But now you understand how we ended up sending over 100 emails in just a few months. And this is just one case of ours!
Throughout it all, we stood by Laszlo and Monika every step of the way — and we truly hope they felt our support during this rollercoaster process.
We never aim to scare anyone off buying a home — quite the opposite. Even in a case as complex as this, we stuck with it and saw it through to the finish line.
But what impressed us most wasn’t the paperwork or the persistence it took from our side — it was theirs.
Laszlo and Monika showed incredible patience, sharp thinking, and calm, solution-focused communication. Most people would have walked away after a fraction of the issues they faced. But not them. They handled it all with kindness, grace, and unwavering determination.
We take our hats off to them.
We hope that very soon, the stress of this journey will be just a distant memory — and the new home will be filled with nothing but joy and beautiful moments.
